The Us Books is built on a simple promise: your family's recipes belong to your family. This page explains, in plain language, how we handle the information you share with us.

What we collect

We collect the information you give us — your name, email, and the recipes, photos, and stories you upload. We also collect basic usage data (which pages you visit, what browser you use) to keep the service running smoothly.

How we use it

Your recipes are yours. We use the information you provide to operate the service, send you transactional emails (order confirmations, invites), and improve the product. We never sell your data.

Who can see your recipes

Books are private by default. Only people you explicitly invite can view or contribute. We never make a book public without your action.

AI photo generation

When you generate a photo using AI, your recipe text is sent to our AI provider to create the image. The recipe text is not used to train any model.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details on our servers — only a token that lets us bill subscriptions and process refunds.

Data retention

Your data stays with us as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, and we'll permanently remove your books and personal information within 30 days.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, or request deletion at any time by emailing privacy@theusbooks.com.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll email registered users and post a notice on the site at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
